Although it has not been 100% confirmed by the government yet, it is worth looking into the impact of the “Lantau Tomorrow Vision” to Kennedy Town. Its major aim is to create a sustainable living and working environment for Hong Kong people, creating 260,000 to 400,000 house units by reclamation. Kau Yi Chau Artificial Island will be the first phase and there will be a Kau Yi Chau Hong Kong Island Corridor (road & rail), Kennedy Town will be the “transfer station” on Hong Kong Island connecting both areas.
The major target of the vision

To implement the Tung Chung New Town Extension, providing over 800,000 m2 of commercial floor space for regional office hub, retail, and hotel development, and creating about 40,000 jobs.
